Javier Adrian Olando Cos was born in Houston, Texas, on September 5, 1969.  He lived in Mexico, Canada, and Spain before his family moved to Cuba when he was nine years old.  He studied music as several conservatories in Cuba and Austria before moving to New Orleans, La., to teach music.
