Biography/History

Rodney Richard Sr. was born in Phillips, Maine and, beginning around seven or eight years old, helped his father, William Richard in the woods. After graduating from Phillips High School in 1948, he worked as a logger and also spent some time in the Army. He helped found the Rangely Lakes Logging Museum in 1979. He learned woodcarving from his father and carved with both a jack knife and chainsaw.
