Doris Frazier is a gospel singer from the St. Louis region. Like all great gospel musicians, Doris Frazier (Chesterfield, Missouri) learned to harmonize and play piano by ear as a young child. For decades, she has served her communities as a touring gospel performer (with the Fiddmont Singers); as a choir director; and as director of music at serveral churches, including the Union Baptist Church in the historic Westland Acres of Chesterfield.
Mrs. Frazier was one of ten original master artists in Missouri Folk Arts Apprenticeship Program (later named the Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Program) in 1985; she taught again in 1992 and 2016.
