Biography/History

The Ozark Folk Center State Park of Mountain View, Arkansas is America’s only facility that works to share the heritage and way of life of the Ozark Mountain people. It’s lively, it’s entertaining, and it makes learning about Ozark history and heritage loads of fun. It’s an adventure in yesterday’s Ozark way of life that you can see, touch and enjoy today.

We offer workshops in pioneer crafts, herb gardening and traditional American folk music, as well as special folk arts & crafts programs for children and seniors. Make plans now to attend our Ozark Folk Schools.

The Skillet Restaurant is one of the finest country cooking restaurants in the Ozark Mountains, featuring recipes made with the organic herbs grown in our Gardens.

The mission of Ozark Folk Center State Park is to perpetuate, present and promote the Ozark way of life in an educational and enjoyable manner; through craft demonstrations, musical programs, the Heritage Herb Garden, workshops and other special events.
