Camilla Ammirati is the Director of Research and Programs at TAUNY (Traditional Arts in Upstate New York) in Canton, NY, where she resides with her husband and daughter and pursues her interests in the music, foodways, and other living traditions of New York’s North Country. Camilla holds a PhD in English from the University of Virginia, with a focus on 19th- to 20th -century American literature and cultural history. She has been an active musician in the Boston bluegrass and Virginia and Canton old-time music communities, playing guitar and banjo, as well as singing and writing music.
