Summary
Collection includes fieldwork materials donated by Dr. Howard to the folklife program under Dr. Charley Camp’s stewardship, including materials on play-party songs, children’s folklore, herblore, and other folklife documented in Mountain Maryland. Dr. Howard spent the bulk of her career teaching at Frostburg State University (1944-1977) documenting the customs and histories of mountain communities of Western Maryland. This collection is comprised of the fieldwork materials collected during that time. It is contained in two boxes. Additional detail is noted at box level. Minimal archival processing has been performed.
