Scope and Contents

This collection includes interviews exploring the history of the Lake Champlain side-wheel paddle steamboat, "Ticonderoga." Built in Shelburne, Vermont in 1906, the Ticonderoga served ports in New York and Vermont until 1953. In 1955, the decommissioned vessel was moved to the Shelburned Museum where it became part of their permanent collection. Recordings created through the project formed the radio series "Memories of the Ticonderoga" produced by Ev Grimes and Jane Beck
