Summary
Between 2006 and 2009, the Western Folklife Center hosted a podcast, "Ranch Rhymes: Cowboy Poetry and Music from the Western Folklife Center"--an audio program of short duration focused on a specific topic or artist. The program was produced and hosted by Archives Assistant, Ross Fuqua. Content was drawn from the Western Folklife Center Archives and featured recorded performances of cowboy poetry and music, interspersed with commentary. Fuqua produced a total of 48 podcast programs until a funding shortfall brought the program to a close. Podcast topics were mostly chosen at random but some were intended to publicize or coincide with Western Folklife Center events and projects. The format usually centered on one poem or song, but occasionally interview material was included. The podcast was offered via the Western Folklife Center website as well as online sites like iTunes.
