William Sabourin O'Reily was born in Havana, Cuba, on June 19, 1972.  He received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering in 1996, but never worked in the field.  He arrived in the United States in 1999 and eventually settled in New Orleans, La., where he works as a photographer.
