Ralph Cook was a student at the University of Maine. He interviewed Leon Bussell and J. Kenneth LaFlamme  for the Argyle Boom project in Folklore 107, Fall 1973. He also interviewed Walter Scott about his work on the North Lincoln Sorting Gap for the same class and Lester Twist about log driving at the turn of the century.
