Summary

Mrs. Corene Nelson, 56 years old, began singing gospel music in Georgia where she formed her first group before she was a teenager. Several years after moving to Detroit she formed the Silver Harps with a desire to have an acapella group. Beginning with 5 members in 1958, Mrs. Nelson now has a group as well as that of the Harps; the discussion includes their travels, universal acceptance by young and old, her strong preference for unaccompanied music and for traditional sounds and plans for the group's future.
