J. DuRocher was a student of folklore at the University of Oregon. This collection includes an essay and fieldwork documentation relating to this student's folklore fieldwork project.
Collector presents seven folk tales collected from Deadheads with four motifs: Free Show, Miracle Show, First Show, Really Good Show. Author asserts the folk tales inform non-Deadheads about the shows, extends ? status in Deadhead hierarchy, and help bind Deadheads by keeping the Grateful Dead spirit alive.
