Scope and Content Note

Collection consists of seven folders of documents--a Final Report (1991), Grant application material (1990), a Mailing List Proof Report (1990), and field reports (1987); 49 cassette tapes, and 37 tape logs.

Administrative/Biographical History Element

This collection documents two surveys--one carried out by Amy Brassieur in 1987 and one in 1991 by Pat Mire. The included survey final reports indicate that both shared the goal of locating and documenting local artists, craftspeople, storytellers, etc, who were representative of the traditional arts of the region, which includes Allen, Beauregard, Cameron, Calcasieu, and Jefferson Davis Parishes.
