Scope and Content Note
Materials include interviews recorded on cassettes, a field report, survey forms, photographs, project proposal, release forms, fliers, research articles, and clippings. Additionally there are promotional materials for and a DVD of a Laotian New Year celebration. Digital materials include 581 JPEGs, recordings of interviews in WAV and MP3 formats, and a copy of the video of the New Year's celebration (VOB).

Administrative/Biographical History Element
Documentation of the Laotian immigrant community in Lanexang Village in northern Iberia Parish. Conducted by Dr. Hardy Jones, Jr., this project took place in 2007 over 13 weeks. Jones documented activities at Wat Thammarattanaram in Lanexang Village through interviews and photographs including community meetings, a festival, beauty pageant, and parade. Dr Jones' subsequent article based on this research may be found on the New Populations page of the Louisiana Folklife Program website.
