Summary

This collection includes photos, field notes, and interviews documenting past and present quilting traditions throughout northern New York. The project, conducted in 2015, studied over 1000 quilts around the region. Photos include images taken at documentation days, as well as field shots of quilt shows, quilt auctions, tying bees, and documentation of construction of a quilt used in a production of the musical Quilters. Also includes photo documentation of the 2016 TAUNY exhibition “Warmth, Remembrance, and Art: 200 Years of Quilts and Comforters in Northern New York”, based on the 2015 research. Includes 1500 photographs, 36 interviews, 100 videos.
