The Student Fieldwork Projects Collection (SFP) at Ohio State University contains over 11,000 OSU folklore student research projects stretching back to the early 1960s, focusing on regional oral traditions (with a particular strength in contemporary and historical legends, anecdotes, jokes, and oral history), beliefs, customs, festivals, material culture, and traditional ways of living.
Student Fieldwork Projects are arranged in individual folders for each student. The first 9,000 or so projects were arranged alphabetically across the collection, mixing years, instructors, and other classification factors. Since that initial batch, projects have been arranged according to the following categories: year>quarter/semester>instructor>last name>first name.
A number of the Student Fieldwork Projects request that pseudonyms be used for the collector as well as those mentioned in the project.
