Summary
Research Files include field reports, logs, and a report on musical instrument makers compiled by James P. Leary. Included in the report are tape logs and indexes of interviews Leary conducted, supporting and supplementary materials on the instrument makers, names of contacts, and notes on potential use of instruments in the exhibit. Also included are notes on taped interviews not included in this collection. For example, an interview with Ray Calkins, “lumberjack” instrument maker, recorded for the Down Home Dairyland radio program, is held at Mills Music Library. Another interview, with Stanley and Kathleen Twardowski, miniature instrument makers, is documented with typewritten notes, but the recorded interview is not included in this collection. A photo log is also included as part of the report.
