Scope and Content Note
The collection is comprised of 36 sound files, where 34 are interviews with single individuals or a pair of individuals; and 2 files are group conversation from 2 separate occasions.Speakers were predominantly 3rd and 4th generation Norwegian-American. Many speakers came from Gudsbrandal, Norway, and speak that dialect in the recordings. There are two additional folders marked “more proficient” and “less proficient” containing 14 files (8 and 6 files, respectively). It is unclear whether these are additional interviews, or an organization of – and duplication of – the other files.
